The blogesphere has recently not been kind to the previous best seller Prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkerson. Denny Burk just posted audio on how the break-up of Caedmon’s Call and Derek Web is due to the The Prayer of Jabez. Dr. Jim West, also, recently posted on what he calls the “The Prayer of Jabez Heresy” and along with that suggests a great and surpassing book on prayer, Of Prayer—A Perpetual Exercise of Faith. The Daily Benefits Derived from It, by John Calvin.

My understanding is that Caedmon’s hasn’t broken up, they’re just on a respite while Derek does a bit of solo work…
The interview is an interesting one, in that Web calls it a split in calling. Web has a calling to confront the Church with the Gospel and its implications and the band is not as confrontational. So, since then, Web has put out 3 or 4 albums to do just that. But, I did hear they are recording together again.
