Christianity Today and the New Perspective

August 11, 2007

Christianity Today has done an editorial and cover story on The New Perspective on Paul. With CT’s article and the forthcoming book The Future of Justification: A Response to N.T. Wright by John Piper, the New Perspective on Paul is being popularized (for lack of a better word), meaning the New Perspective on Paul is now, and will be, more than just a squibble in the seminaries and denominational meetings, but something that the thoughtful and articulate layperson will have to think about. With the lack of denominational foundation, more and more British scholars leaving or rejecting its perspectives, and now two “popular level” (again, excuse the term) critiques, I wonder what the future of the New Perspective on Paul will be.
