    John,

A significant number of women suffer violence in their marriage. The Stanford prison experiment, google this, demonstrates clearly that increased power or authority guarantees that overall, not in any one case, but overall, more violence will occur.

Giving power and authority to husbands increases the potential for violence. Among non-Christians validation for men having more power than women is found elsewhere, but it is found.

Except in extremely rare cases prayer will not terminate the violence. All social science concurs that over time submission to violence or any wrong behaviour causes that behaviour to increase.

The preacher of this kind of sermon does not pay the price, but some woman surely does. I have written to gender blog pleading with them to take into account the safety of women.

Sue, I’m not exactly sure what you are responding to. Are you responding to my recent post at Gender Blog?
