Lord, It Belongs Not to My Care

September 13, 2009

We sang a wonderful song today entitled “Lord, It Belongs Not to My Care.”  The words are from the great puritan, Richard Baxter.  The entire song is wonderful, but the second stanza was great to sing with an entire congregation:

Christ leads us through no darker rooms than he went through before,

He that unto God’s kingdom comes must enter by this door.

Come Lord, when grace has made me meet, they blessed face to see;

For if thy work on earth be sweet, what will they glory be!

I love the first line: “Christ leads us through no darker rooms than he went through before.”
